Data QA (Quality Assurance) Engineer

As the QA Engineer, you will work closely with the Product Management, Information Services, Engineering, and Client Services teams to define, develop, and test to ensure that data utilized by PQS is accurate and reliable.

The specific responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

You will… 

  • Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs.
  • Create and execute comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases.
  • Perform functional/integration/regression/end-to-end smoke testing duties proficiently and independently.
  • Analyze bugs and errors found during tests, including steps to recreate the issues.
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities.
  • Communicate unacceptable risks to quality.
  • Drive the automation roadmap to increase test coverage across all types of testing.
  • Maintain updated knowledge of industry trends and advancements.
  • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and provide metrics.
  • Investigate client inquiries.
  • Document procedures/processes. Create repeatable processes and artifacts that are consistent and deliver value.
  • Cross-train with Quality Assurance peers and constructively challenge their findings.

You have…

  • A technical background or technical degree, including 3-5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Proficiency in SQL development with data warehouse experience.
  • Experience testing Informatica.
  • Experience with large data set creation, back-end testing (SQL), being able to validate information as it flows throughout the system.
  • A demonstrable understanding of quality assurance and testing methodologies.
  • Experience in software development and testing including test plan and case creation.
  • A demonstrable ability to think critically and identify edge cases.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with appreciation for documentation and collaboration.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong organization and communication skills, including the ability to provide respectful feedback and generate consensus.
  • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.

 

Outstanding candidates will have…

  • Fluency with healthcare and pharmacy data.
  • Experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Cypress and Selenium).
  • 1-2 years of experience scripting in python
  • Working knowledge of Azure tools & functionality
  • Working knowledge of front-end web development

Travel Requirements

  • Travel at a minimum of once a year, but can be up to once a quarter for Team Meetings or as business needs require

Employment Status: Full-Time Exempt

Salary Range: $80,000 to $110,000
